The real face of America, which calls itself the world's protector of human rights and humanitarianism, has once again been exposed in southern Iran. The same America that martyred more than 168 innocent children by attacking a primary school in the Iranian city of Minab is now repeating the same barbarity by firing missiles at a wedding ceremony in a village in Sirik.
The Tragedy of Minab - The World Has Not Forgotten
February 28, 2026, the first day of the war. American and Israeli fighter jets launched attacks on Iran. On the same afternoon, a large missile fell on a government primary school in Minab city in Hormozgan province. According to Iranian officials, more than 200 children were in class at that time.
More than 175 children and teachers died in the attack, 168 of whom were identified as school children. The Pentagon has not made the investigation report of this incident public till date, but in a Reuters report of March 2026, the US military's own internal investigation admitted that the US military was responsible for it. This is the biggest civilian casualty incident of the US military in the last several decades.
America sometimes called it a "mistake", sometimes an "intelligence failure". But for the mothers whose laps were emptied, it is not just a word, it is a lifelong wound.
And Now the Same Story Repeated in Sirik
The wounds of Minab had not even healed when the same barbarity was repeated on the night of September 1 in Kuhestak village of Sirik County.
This village is a quiet fishing village located on the banks of the Strait of Hormuz. A family was celebrating their daughter's wedding here. At 9:30 pm, when the bride and groom were on stage and children were playing in a pandal decorated with white flowers, a huge explosion occurred.
US Central Command (CENTCOM) has admitted that on that night it had attacked air defense sites and communication towers near Sirik. Just 135 meters from the wedding house was a civilian communication tower, which provided mobile and internet service to the common people. The debris or direct hit of the same attack fell on the wedding house.
5 Martyred, 68 Injured - Including 19 Children
According to the Iranian Red Crescent and local officials:
- 4-year-old Amir Mohammad Karimi died on the spot. He had come to his cousin's wedding.
- Kolsoom Mollahi, 43 years and Zarkhatoon Taheri, 50 years- two women who were guests.
- 16-year-old Mohammad Mallahi*म, who was passing by on a bike near the tower.
- A 22-year-old young woman died in the hospital.
A total of 5 people have died and 63 to 68 people have been injured, including 19 children under 10 years of age.
A local man told Tasnim News Agency, "If it was a military location, it wouldn't be so painful. This was a wedding ceremony, but they turned people's happiness into mourning."
The Double Face of America
On one hand, talk of humanity, democracy and rules-based order in the White House press briefing, on the other hand, bombs on schools and weddings.
US Vice President J.D. Vance this time said "We are investigating it, if we make mistakes we learn from them." He had given the same statement after the Minab school attack, but even after 6 months the investigation report has not been made public.
The Iranian Foreign Ministry has called it a "barbaric war crime" and demanded an independent investigation from the International Criminal Court (ICC). Iran says that America is strangling common Iranians in the name of "economic choke-out."
Questions That Should Be Asked to America
1. Was it so necessary to target a civilian communication tower that the lives of 68 civilians were put at risk for it?
2. When America claims to have the most precise weapons, why are soft targets like schools and weddings being hit again and again?
3. Why has the investigation report of 168 children of Minab been hidden till date?
This incident of Sirik has again proved that in war, the highest price is always paid by common people, children and women. The blood stain on the white flowers of the wedding raises a question on that humanism, whose flag America carries around the world.
