Trump's Repeated Assertion on Ending Multiple Conflicts

On January 9, 2026, during a meeting with oil and gas industry leaders at the White House and in an interview with Fox News host Sean Hannity, US President **Donald Trump** once again declared himself the greatest peacemaker in history. He claimed to have stopped "eight and a quarter" wars in the early months of his second term, with some conflicts lasting decades and others on the brink of starting. Trump emphasized that he prevented massive loss of life, saving "tens of millions" of people.

Specific Focus on India-Pakistan Crisis of May 2025

Trump highlighted the brief but intense India-Pakistan conflict in May 2025, triggered by the Pahalgam terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir (April 22, 2025), which killed 26 civilians. India responded with Operation Sindoor – missile and air strikes targeting alleged terrorist infrastructure linked to groups like Jaish-e-Mohammed and Lashkar-e-Taiba in Pakistan and Pakistan-administered Kashmir.

Trump stated: “India and Pakistan, where 8 jets were already shot down in the air... both nuclear powers were ready for a big war. I stopped it very quickly, without nuclear weapons being used.” He added that Pakistan's Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif visited the US and publicly credited him with saving 10 million lives, warning that escalation would have been catastrophic.

Pakistan has repeatedly praised Trump's role, with Sharif calling him a "man of peace" at international forums and nominating him for the 2026 Nobel Peace Prize (Pakistan's second such nomination, following an earlier one in 2025 tied to the same crisis).

Trump's Strong Case for the Nobel Peace Prize

Trump asserted: “In history, no one else deserves the Nobel Peace Prize more than me. No one has stopped so many wars.” He mocked former President Barack Obama, who received the prize in 2009 shortly after taking office, saying Obama “didn't do anything” to earn it.

Trump argued that each prevented war should warrant a separate prize, theoretically entitling him to eight (or more). He dismissed the award's importance but stressed his focus on saving lives over personal recognition.

Venezuela and the Machado Nobel Controversy

The 2025 Nobel Peace Prize went to Venezuelan opposition leader María Corina Machado for her efforts against Nicolás Maduro's regime. Machado dedicated the prize partly to Trump and expressed a desire to "share" or give it to him, praising US actions (including the eventual ouster of Maduro) as a step for freedom.

Trump responded positively, saying it would be a “great honor” to accept it during her upcoming White House visit. However, Nobel rules prevent transferring or sharing the award officially, and critics called the exchange "childish" and humiliating.

Criticism of Trump's "Double Standards" on Peace While Trump touts his peace credentials, detractors highlight inconsistencies in his foreign policy. His strong support for Israel's military actions in Gaza and Palestine has led to thousands of civilian deaths, with accusations of enabling "bloodshed" through unconditional backing.

In Venezuela, US pressure on oil resources and regime change efforts are seen by some as driven by "bullying" and self-interest rather than pure peace. Critics argue Trump's "daddy-style" diplomacy and oil-focused policies fuel conflict more than resolve it, questioning his suitability for a Nobel.

Trump's style continues to dominate global discussions: genuine achievement or self-promotion? Time will tell. For now, his message is clear:

Peace King is Trump!**
