A massive threat looms over America’s military might. A former Pentagon advisor has issued a chilling warning: due to the massive arms shipments to Ukraine and Israel, the United States now has only enough missiles to fight for eight days. After that? The only option left would be nuclear weapons.
On Friday, retired Colonel Douglas Macgregor – who served as a senior advisor to the Secretary of Defense in the Trump administration – posted on social media:
“America must immediately stop sending weapons overseas. Credible sources have informed me that our offensive and defensive missile stockpiles are down to just eight days’ worth. The meaning is clear: we can fight for eight days, then we’ll be forced to use nuclear weapons.”
Macgregor also cautioned President Donald Trump directly: “I doubt Trump has been fully briefed on this. He needs to demand a complete accounting of the true state of U.S. missile inventories.”
Why the critical shortage? The Trump administration recently announced new military aid packages to Ukraine that include long-range missiles, Patriot
interceptors, and 155mm artillery shells. At the same time, Israel continues to receive billions of dollars in support for its wars in Gaza and against Hezbollah.
Yet this “warmongering policy” is hollowing out America’s own defenses. Analysts point to:
- Delays in production and broken supply chains
- Russia accusing the West of using donated missiles to strike civilian targets in Ukraine, further escalating tensions
Two grim choices for Washington:
1. Slash foreign military aid: Give far less to Ukraine and Israel – but this would shatter America’s image as the unchallenged global superpower and embolden adversaries like Russia and Iran.
2. Dramatically ramp up defense spending and production: Trillions of dollars in new costs – crushing the economy, fueling inflation, and strengthening the China-Russia axis in response.
Both paths carry catastrophic consequences: economic crisis, regional instability, and the looming specter of nuclear escalation.
Trump now faces a fateful decision. Macgregor’s warning has sparked fierce debate among American conservatives. Will Trump sharply reduce aid to Ukraine in pursuit of peace? Or will he weaken America itself in a bid to project strength?
This crisis is holding up a mirror to the United States: before arming the world, secure your own house. Otherwise, eight days from now, a nuclear cloud could be on the horizon.
