"Iran's Clear Message: Fair Deal Yes, Compromise on Rights Never – Abbas Araghchi's Guardian Op-Ed Challenges Trump to Move Beyond Netanyahu's Pressure"

On December 31, 2025, as the world prepares for the New Year, Iran's Foreign Minister **Seyed Abbas Araghchi** once again raised his voice on the international stage.

In an op-ed published in the prestigious London-based newspaper The Guardian on December 30, 2025, titled "You’ll never defeat us in Iran, President Trump: but with real talks, we can both win", Araghchi directly addressed US President Donald Trump.

He stated that Iran is ready for a fair agreement based on mutual respect and benefit, but will never compromise on its nuclear rights under the NPT (Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty).

The article came at a critical time when discussions between the Trump administration and Israel on the nuclear issue are intensifying.

Following the 12-day Iran-Israel war in June 2025 (June 13–24), during which Israel, with US support, struck major Iranian nuclear and military sites, Tehran has further strengthened its "maximum resistance" policy.

Araghchi wrote that Israel's myth of "invincibility" has been shattered, and a growing number of Americans now view Israel not as a reliable ally but as "a liability" or extra burden. **Nuclear Program: Grounded in Religious, Ethical, and Security Principles

The Iranian Foreign Minister strongly emphasized that Iran's nuclear program is entirely peaceful,

This decision is rooted in **religious, ethical, and security** considerations – not a tactical position.

He described the crisis surrounding Iran's nuclear activities as a "manufactured" one, created in Tel Aviv and promoted through Israeli influence on US policy.

Recalling the 2015 JCPOA (Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action), Araghchi noted that Trump's first-term "maximum pressure" policy did not weaken Iran – instead, it made the country stronger and boosted its "maximum resistance"*capacity.

He cited the June war as an example where Iran showed **restraint**, but warned that this restraint **should not be mistaken for weakness** and is **not unlimited. Questioning the US-Israel Alliance

In the article, Araghchi directly challenged Trump:

Israel's attempts to drag the US into confrontation with Iran proved "expensive and unprecedented" for both sides.

A rising number of Americans now realize that Israel is not just an ally but a burden,

The narrative of Iran's nuclear program as a "mythical threat" was fabricated in Tel Aviv, but reality is different.

He highlighted regional shifts, noting an unprecedented willingness among mutual friends of Iran and the US (likely Gulf states) to facilitate dialogue.

Araghchi claimed these changes could enable the implementation of agreements in **an entirely new way, Conditions for Agreement and Limited Time Window**

Iran is crystal clear on its position:

Any deal must be based on **mutual respect and **shared benefits

Lifting of sanctions must be real, verifiable, and complete.

Iran will never compromise on its peaceful nuclear rights under the NPT, including domestic uranium enrichment.

Araghchi warned that the window for a fair and peaceful agreement is limited.

Achieving it requires **courage and determination**.

Quoting "Fortune favours the brave", he appealed to break the cycle of old enmities. **Diplomacy or Confrontation?**

Araghchi's piece is more than a statement – it is an **open letter** to the Trump administration.

Iran neither desires war nor surrender.

It is prepared for **serious negotiations**, but only on its terms.

The world is now watching: Will the US rise above Israeli pressure and choose genuine diplomacy, or repeat the old "maximum pressure" approach?

Iran's message is unmistakable: We will never compromise on our rights, but **the door to a fair deal remains open**.

Time is short – courage is needed more than ever.
